SOMETHING STINKS IN LINCOLN COUNTY NC.
Brian Addison was killed in Lincoln County Nc. on 09/01/03. Sheriff Pickens refused to demand that her staff  , do their job and investigate his death. Just like they investigated the dogs death. As they should have. All we received from The Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. was lies, and stupid answers to simple questions.About 3 years after Brian's death. Brian's grandmother started to become ill. Her illness progressed until she passed away on Nov. 13 2008. The one thing she wanted was to see the person that killed Brian, brought to justice. Due to illiteracy, ignorance,and/or corruption. That did not happen. I hope the people directly responsable for this get some satisfaction from this miscarriage of justice, and you and I know who you are.
Now the Lincoln county commissioners have got involved with an alleged DWI charge.   They did not get involved with Brian's death. Also Rick Shaffer has got involved. He refused to look into Brian's death. Even after Sheriff Pickens sent to him a report so sloppy it was referred to by a seasoned homicide investigator as toilet paper. Report did not show even one person interviewed. But Rick Shaffer accepted it as an investigation. Does he not know any better?  He told me it was over, he was closing the case. The  Sheriff do what they want to. The District Attorney, {The Honorable William Young} at the time would not answer my calls, or mail.
Something stinks in Lincoln county.

Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord

FIRST MEETING

FIRST CONTACT WITH SHERIFF DEPT.
When Brian was killed. We had some doubts about it being suicide. After a short time, we heard some conflicting stories about how it happened. We also saw some actions that didn’t seem just right.  On 12/10/03. at 09:29 AM. I called Lt. Ronnie Matthews at the Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. I told him I had a few questions. He was unable to answer my questions since he did not do the investigation. When I told him I did not think Brian shot himself. He replied. have you seen the photos he wrote on?. At that point I had not seen anything. He told me if I would come to Lincolnton he would go over the file with us.
I called Lt. Matthews on 03/10/03, at 08:44 AM. ask if we could come down there on 03/12/03. We agreed to meet at 1:00 pm. I ask him if the investigator could be there, since he did not have the answers to our questions. He said she would be there with the file. We arrived there and went to Lt. Matthews office, on the way we heard someone say Det. Bolick had just left. We entered his office and were greeted with. What can I do for you. We did not receive any apology or explanation for Det. Bolick not keeping her appointment. I told Lt. Matthews if we could see the investigators report and the medical examiners report. It would answer most of our questions. He did not have either report. When he opened the file we were totally shocked. It consisted of the incident report, the autopsy report, the photos they ASSUMED Brian had written on. Brian’s wife’s statement, which was taken 10 days after Brian was killed.  (Where is the police academy that instructs investigators to wait 10 days to get the only witness statement?)After the house had been totally cleaned and painted. And the garage cleaned the day he was killed. Lt. Matthews still could not answer any questions. Brian’s grandmother ask . How do you know it was suicide? He replied it was called in as suicide. She ask how do you know the gun was Brian’s. He replied it had blood on it. When I told him it looked like it was decided, suicide when they arrived there. The sgt had written he was investigating a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Lt. Matthews replied in a sarcastic tone. I am not going to argue with you, my investigators did their job. Up to that point we had not seen any thing they had done. We had never thought of arguing with him. We feel this was an attempt to intimidate us. We left this meeting. more confused than ever, and had many more questions. We went there expecting to get some explanations. Lt. Matthews agreed before we left that more people  should have been interviewed.  According to what we saw. The only other person at the scene, was the only one that had been interviewed. Lt. Matthews said that was all of the file. He promised as did Det Bolick,   later that when the report was completed they contact me and I could see it. To this date we have not seen the report.
We told Lt. Matthews we would send to him names and phone no.s of people that could give them information. We also told him we would send to him examples of handwriting. For them to compare with writing on photos. The last thing he told us was. She will be in touch. Following is the phone conversation between Brian and his sister. Lt. Matthews made a copy of this 03/12/03. This was on Thur 08/28/03, before Brian was killed on Mon. am. 09/01/03This is the day Brian’s wife told police he threatened to shoot himself in front of her.  You see he was in Myrtle Beach. This conversation was of no importance to the Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. The gun he was going to hide is the same gun the sheriff dept said he was killed with. This conversation was so little concern to the investigators. They never did ask for the sisters name or phone no. They showed no interest in getting phone records to confirm or dismiss this.

A phone call between Brian and his sister on 08/28/03. This phone call could be verified by phone records, and interviewing the man in the truck with Brian.
As for
Susan.... I will not say... may make me go to hell if I start saying
things
out loud... will just forget about her with time.  I didn't have and
email
about that from Brian.  I called him the Thursday before all that
happened
and he was in Myrtle Beach so he said call him back in 2 hours after he
was
off work.  So when I called him back he told me that he had had it with
her
and that he was going to leave her.  That she was too clingy and always
wanted from him.  He said he had been staying in hotels for a while and
that
he was going to start moving stuff out soon.  That is when he said he
was
going home to hide the gun cause Susan had a bad temper when it came to
Him.
if
he did hide it cause it would be bad if his little sis ended up in jail
for
killing her sister-in-law.  He promised nothing would happen to him and
then
we made plans for me to try to fly back before the end of go cart
racing so
I could watch him and then he would fly over for Christmas and new
years.
Told me to call him back middle of next week and he would talk to you
to get
tickets for us.  Then we just chatted a bit and he said he needed to
get
off the phone to check into his room and grab a beer.  _The guy he works
with
was in the truck with him and talked to him at the funeral... he said
he
thought there might be some truth to what he said that night and I told
him
to just let it go.... he was dead and out of pain and Susan looked so
hurt
that it couldn't have been her.
The man in the truck is one I tried to get Det. Bolick to interview.

When we first went to the sheriff dept. We thought we would get some explanation, of what they had discovered. We thought if we gave them information they would say we will check it. Not so, instead we got excuses, smart remarks, un beleivable answers to questions. Like blood on the gun.  called in as suicide. Autopsy report and Medical examiner report are the same. Photos which were assumed to be a suicide note. Written by another person.

SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH

It was reported to us, that a person who had not been interviewed, was ask to take a polygraph. This person said the Sheriff's professional representive told her THE GRANDPARENTS WON'T LET IT GO.  If this unprofessional, un ethical, illiterate, statement was made. It is not a matter of letting go it is a police dept. not doing their job. Not honoring their oath of office. Brian's death deserves the same consideration that Sheriff Pickens gave the Jack Russell. Just like she should have. There is a reason
