After going to visit with
investigators, and not getting any answers. Not knowing anything about
investigations. Going only on common sense, thinking of what should be
done. We decided to ask some questions. When we would see a policeman
we would find out what their job was. We would ask them some questions.
Not telling about anyone or any place. Telling them we didn’t
want confidential answers. Just answers in general.
1. The first one I talked to was a NC. County Official.
My question to him was.
How do your investigators handle a
scene that appears to be suicide. He replied all deaths are
investigated as a homicide, until proven different.
2. The next one I talked to was a. detective. I ask how he handled an apparent suicide
scene. He said it is handled as a homicide. I ask, do you do gsr and
ballistic test. He said always, that is part of the investigation.
3. The next one was one in eastern NC. I ask what he knew
about 9mm. He said not much , said they quit using them because they
penetrate everything. I ask if a person is shot in the mouth with
a fully jacketed 9mm. Is it likely to exit.
He said he thought it would. He said
his wife was an expert. He called her over said to her 9mm fully
jacketed shot in mouth didn’t exit. She said no way it would blow out
the back of their head.
4. I talked to another who said he had
heard of a dud load not exiting. He said he had never seen a dud load.
He said they had also quit using 9mm. For the same reason.
There were several others we talked to
in NC. And other states. One thing in every case they said they
investigate a suicide as a homicide.
The point here is that is totally different from what we saw and heard in Lincoln County.
I
talked to an official in a state agency. He wouldn’t answer any
questions. He did say we should contact the District Attorney. We
had already contacted Mr. William Young. He would not respond.
W
e realize we are in an up hill struggle. We know that The Sheriff Dept.
and The DA. have resources that we don't have. Supplied to them by the
tax payers, but we have to try to let Brian rest. He can't
rest until he can tell his side of what happened. Brian is
depending on investigators to tell his side. So far they have failed
Brian miserably .I feel that Sheriff Pickens has integrety, and
will eventually see that the right thing is done...I
think one day Sheriff Pickens will set aside what the law says she does
not have to do,or what some one else wants, and do what she feels is
right. I think every one
should ask themselves How would I feel if my grand son was killed,
and it was swept under the rug like a dead cock roach? Again
what is the motive. It has to be something.
All we have ever
ask for is the truth. Any one we have talked to will tell anyone. We
have never ask any favors, or, any special treatment. Just the truth.
There may be a legitimate reason why a certain persons death would be ignored by people who are paid with taxpayers money.
