SOMETHING STINKS IN LINCOLN COUNTY NC.  
   Brian Addison was killed in Lincoln County Nc. on 09/01/03. Sheriff Pickens refused to demand that her staff  , do their job and investigate his death. Just like they investigated the dogs death. As they should have.All we received from The Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. was lies,and stupid answers to simple questions.About 3 years after Brian's death. Brian's grandmother started to become ill. Her illness progressed until she passed away on Nov. 13 2008. The one thing she wanted was to see the person that killed Brian, brought to justice. Due to illiteracy, ignorance,and/or corruption. That did not happen. I hope the people directly responsable for this get some satisfaction from this miscarriage of justice, and you and I know who you are.
Now the Lincoln county commissioners have got involved with an alleged DWI charge.   They did not get involved with Brian's death. Also Rick Shaffer has got involved. He refused to look into Brian's death. Even after Sheriff Pickens sent to him a report so sloppy it was referred to by a seasoned homicide investigator as toilet paper. Report did not show even one person interviewed. But Rick Shaffer accepted it as an investigation. Does he not know any better?  He told me it was over, he was closing the case. The  Sheriff do what they want to. The District Attorney, {The Honorable William Young} at the time would not answer my calls, or mail.
Something stinks in Lincoln county.

UPDATE


We learned today, 12/15/04. Someone from The Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. interviewed one of Brian's work associates. Sometime in summer 04. We had not heard of this. If anything was discovered in this interview to show suicide. The Sheriff dept. has not informed us.
     We also learned from the interviewe that the interviewer showed very little concern. Ask very few questions,.  According to him they spent time trying to convince him it was suicide. We don't know the investigators side since they refuse to share information with us. We learned later from a professional homicide det. This was not an interview. The man just gave a statement.

 It is now 07/25/06, We have not heard one word from Sheriff Pickens. It will soon be 3 yrs. since Brian was killed.
I did read that someone in Lincoln County arrested a man for killing a dog. We know that case was investigated.

We were promised in Mar. of 04 and May of 04 that we would recieve the investigators report. Still don't have it.
We were promised in June of 04 by Sheriff Pickens that she would answer our simple questions, still nothing. THERE MUST BE A REASON.

On 11/07/06 the voters removed Sheriff Pickens from office. Sheriff Pickens chose to not honor her oath of office , and she stayed the course. She was sent a 23 page report from a retired homicide detective, who she shared her reports with. He was telling her what they did wrong and what they did not do. She stalled responding to that report, until after the election Sheriff Pickens has not communicated since 2004. When she sent the false weapon serial number to me.

       Since the election I have read about posiable controlling of news releases to manipulate crime stistics. I decided to find out if Brian's death was reported to the news media. At this point I have not found any local news media that recieved this report.  I read several articles about a dog being killed. Sheriff Pickens team investigated that death. Arrested a man, and the DA that would not answer my calls and mail about Brian's death prosecuted him. As he should have done.

What has been learned from news media. In Nov. of 2006 I requested from The Charlotte Obeserver, that they search their records for a story reported to them about Brian's death. They responded that they did not know how they would handle my request. Later they wrote that they would do the search after the first of the year. To date 01/12/06 I have not heard any more from them.

I sent a request to News@Norman they responded.Requesting more information. I sent it to them. They have not responded.

I sent a request to Lincoln Tribune in Nov. of 2006 and Jan. of 2007. They have not responded at all.

 I sent a request to Lincoln Times in Nov of 2006 They responded immediately with the information I requested.

In a nation wide search of all newspapers. The only article found about Brian the week of 09/01/2003 was his obituiary in The Winston Salem Journal. IT IS EVIDENT THE CRIME WAS NOT REPORTED. THERE MUST BE A REASON.What happened to the public information officer? Was he/she not told about Brian's death, or were they instructed to not report it?

SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH

It was reported to us, that a person who had not been interviewed, was ask to take a polygraph. This person said the Sheriff's professional representive told her THE GRANDPARENTS WON'T LET IT GO.  If this unprofessional, un ethical, illiterate, statement was made. It is not a matter of letting go it is a police dept. not doing their job. Not honoring their oath of office. Brian's death deserves the same consideration that Sheriff Pickens gave the Jack Russell. Just like she should have. There is a reason
