THE MOTIVE??
Unless one has
experienced losing a grand child. Then there is no way to explain what
it is like. We had never as much of thought this would happen. The
cause or manner of the death makes no difference. The result is the
same.
To add insult
to injury. When we went to The Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. to get some
answers. Just added to the pain. We did not go there to cause a
problem, not even to question their activities. Definitively did not go
there to argue with any one. We went there to get some sensible
answers, to some sensible questions.
Anyone can imagine what stress we were under. We went there
looking for some explanation to some inconsistencies, in some stories
we had heard., and to look at the file. To see the photos Brian had
written on. That was his suicide note. All the time we thought an
investigation had been completed. As soon as we arrived and entered the
office. We knew we had a problem. By the way we were received. The
investigator was not there, who was supposed to answer our questions.
This conveyed the thought that our visit was of no importance. No
explanation or apology for her absence. Did not receive any condolences
for losing a grand son, which makes no difference. We did not go there
for sympathy, or to ask for any favors. We were just wanting to clear
up a few things. Which as citizens we felt we had a right to do. We
were met with defensiveness and evasiveness from the start. What was
the purpose?
We were
visiting the people hired and elected to protect and serve. We were met
with what in our circle we perceived as rudeness, and a don’t care
attitude. That may be the way things are done in their world. We left
there with many more questions than we went there with. More confused
than ever, and no answers. Why would this case be different than
others. What is the motive, for this kind of treatment. The motive must
be very important. It has been over a year, and we still don’t have the
answers to the few questions we had.
Why would
Brian’s case be singled out to not have any plan of investigation. Have
any guidelines or standards applied to it. Maybe there is a reason we
don’t know. To make it worse. We were advised to contact the DA. We
attempted to contact Mr. William Young, and he did not have the
courtesy to respond. Evidently he has the same attitude about Brian’s
death. The DA. And The Sheriff Dept. must have the same motive. What
ever it is.
Brian’s
father visited The Sheriff Dept. before we did. He was told that the
shot was obviously self inflicted. My question is, obvious to who?
Based on what? Obvious is not good enough. Regardless how obvious it
looks, what is the motive for dropping it and not following
guidelines? Do they just pick and choose what will be investigated? Not
using any facts. Why should it be done different in Lincoln County than
other counties? With no explanation.
Think about what this mentality, and attitude did piled on top of what we were already dealing with.
Some people keep asking why do you think she did it. Investigators will
tell you we have never said she did it. We said the truth has not been
told. One investigator said we may never know the truth. I agree if
someone don’t look for it.
There has been a few cases around that was obvious, which turned out to not be so obvious.
Barbara Stager. Husband shot, obvious accident. Wouldn’t listen to his parents. Just grieving parents.
Barbara Stager, Durham NC. Husband
shot. Obvious accident until ex wife found an investigator with an open
mind. Then neither was obvious
Michael Peterson, Friend fell down stairs in Germany. Obvious accident.
Michael Peterson ,Durham NC. Wife fell
down stairs, Obvious accident. 7 wounds in head ,from fall down stairs.
Someone got through that there had been another one similar. Ruled
accident. Ruling changed on the witness stand.
Timothy Boczkowski, Wife drowned in Greensboro NC obvious accident.
Timothy Boczkowski, Wife drowned in Pa. obvious accident until father said same thing happened to Timothy in Greensboro.
Blanche Moore Who knows?
I am sure there is no relation to this case. This shows that what is obvious may not be. Do we see what we want to see?
I was
told the case was investigated. May have been. If so where is the
evidence discovered to make a decision? All I have seen as evidence is
suicide note written by another person. Called in as suicide. Blood on
gun. Obvious, which is an opinion, not evidence. 2 conflicting reports
of GSR report. Assumptions, and statements from supposed only witness.
Based on what
we have seen, there appears to be some form of discrimination. We
cannot figure why. As far as we know we have never done anything to any
one involved with The Lincoln County Sheriff Dept. Now there appears to
be more discrimination. We have ask to receive the documents they have,
that are public records. They have refused to release them to us. Since
there was no specific person, or group of persons investigated. Then
there should not be anything exempt. Also the case was closed which I
think would make the records public. These documents may answer the
questions we have.
State
law may allow investigators to decide what should be
investigated. I don’t believe it intended the decision to be made
without the facts. I think some one would see that a decision was made
based on some other motive, other than evidence. Some one should have
authority and the integrity to over rule a careless decision like that.
The
most unbelievable thing is that, in this modern age. With the available
education and training. A professional law officer would even act in a
way that could be taken as an attempt to intimidate. A victims family.
Every decision consciously made must be based on something. Someone had
to make a decision to not do a followup investigation. It is apparent
one was intended. The incident report said under further investigation.
An investigator was assigned to the case. Some one must have made a
decision to not do it. If we could have that reason, it may clear up a
lot of confusion.
